Each year more and more students with cognitive and language delays are made part of fully inclusive settings. Very often assistive technologies play a very important role in their everyday successes, but just as often their teachers struggle to find ways to present text materials to them at the level which is most appropriate for them. In the morning, this presentation will focus on several ways to modify texts to best meet student needs through the use of a variety of mid tech tools and software programs. In the afternoon, we'll go through a variety of software tools for modifying and computerizing tests and worksheets. Programs used in this presentation include Microsoft Word, CoWriter 4000 (topic dictionaries), Adobe Acrobat Standard, OmniForm, IntelliTools (locked worksheet), Test Talker, and the form feature of Word.
Time Requirement: Full day presentation.
Workshop & Inservice Rates (effective 7/1/05):
$1500 a day plus travel expenses
Travel expenses include: coach airfare, hotel, food (actual or per diem), transport to and from airports, and actual cost of shipping demo tools to and from the presentation site.
Extra fees apply to and vary with materials needed or requested for workshops including specialty handouts, CDs, custom made kits, etc.
